An important meeting of the Central Kisan Committee (CKC) of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), a nationwide farmers\u2019 organization, was held at the YMCA Centre in Mumbai on 28\u201329 June. Due to government policies, the problems facing agriculture and farmers have greatly intensified. After two days of detailed deliberations on these issues, the Kisan Sabha called for the intensification of nationwide farmers\u2019 struggles to bring these burning issues to the forefront of national attention.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The meeting discussed in detail issues such as falling prices of agricultural produce, rising input costs, crop insurance, land acquisition, fertilizer shortages, deceptive loan waiver schemes, attempts to undermine the importance of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), sugarcane pricing, and the adverse impact of the India\u2013USA, India\u2013European Union, and India\u2013New Zealand Free Trade Agreements on Indian agriculture. A call was given to intensify nationwide struggles on these and other issues affecting the working people.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The meeting emphasized the need to strengthen nationwide unity among farmers\u2019 organizations by bringing together other farmers groups around these issues. It was decided that AIKS would actively participate in the National Convention of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) to be held in Delhi on 28 July to discuss these issues and further intensify the struggle.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The meeting also resolved to transform farmers\u2019 unity into a broader worker\u2013farmer unity and to make successful the National Struggle Convention being jointly organized by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Central Trade Unions on 29th July against the anti-people policies of the government.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The massive nationwide Jail Bharo (Fill the Jails) Movement to be organized on 10th August 2026 at the district level across the country by farmers, workers, and agricultural labourers will be an important struggle to press for the resolution of their issues. The meeting resolved to participate in this movement with full strength.<\/span><\/h4>\n

As AIKS completes 90 years of its formation, a call was given to organize commemorative programmes across the country. It was decided that on 15th November, the birth anniversary of the great martyr Birsa Munda, AIKS flags would be hoisted and meetings, lectures, seminars, and cultural programmes on farmers\u2019 issues would be organized in thousands of villages throughout the country.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The meeting also decided to hold the next National Conference of the All India Kisan Sabha from 18\u201321 November 2026 at Nalgonda in Telangana state.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Farmers\u2019 leaders from across the country expressed confidence that the decisions taken at this meeting would provide fresh momentum to the farmers\u2019 movement.<\/span><\/h4>\n
